The mini-album is a step back from the rock anger of The End of Daydreaming and a move towards an acoustic moral commentary on the world today. Artists such as Newton Faulkner and Antonio Forcioni were big influences on the music, which The Mag found to be "a truly lovely listen". The world was then (as it is now) a truly inequitable place. Moved by many individual stories in places such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza Oliver found a voice to express his sentiments. This album will grow on you - if you enjoyed the rock energy of The End of Daydreaming, then give these songs a chance and I reckon you'll find something special here... Make Your Ears Proud |
